If you are a learner driver you must take and pass your theory test before you book your practical test. The quickest and easiest way to book, check, change or cancel your driving or riding theory test is online.
The theory test is made up of a multiple-choice part and a hazard perception part. You need to pass both parts to pass the theory test and questions in the multiple choice test will depend on the category of vehicle you are hoping to get a licence for.
What will I need before I book a theory test?
- UK driving licence number
- Email address (when booking online)
- Credit or debit card
Please note that you must have lived in England, Wales or Scotland for at least 185 days in the last 12 months before the day you take your theory or driving test.
For the hazard perception test there are no separate versions for different vehicles, but the pass mark is different for them.
The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) recommends that you book on Directgov.
Contact Meopham School of Motoring for more information, we can also help advise you on how to prepare and book you theory driving test.
